What is my Skin Type?

There are a few different skin types—normal, dry, oily, combination, and sensitive. Knowing what skin type you have is important, as you can then choose the best products and treatments to maintain healthy, glowing skin. To determine the exact type of skin you have, we always offer a skin analysis before your treatment.

What Products should everyone have in their Skincare Regimen?

Your regimen will vary every morning & night. At Blush & Blade we believe in the "GRASS" method.  An acronym that helps us to understand the ingredients that everyone should be using during their routine to maximize results as you are away from the treatment room.

Taking care of your skin at home is essential when treating your skin concerns & transforming your skin. As Aestheticians, we can offer the best treatments, but if you do not take care of your skin at home, you're only getting half of the results.

Below is our GRASS method. We also recommend our clients use a Gentle Cleanser & Exfoliator 2x a week.

  • Growth Factor

  • Retinol

  • Antioxidant

  • Skin Specific Ingredients

  • Sunscreen

How often should I exfoliate?

While there’s no hard and fast rule on how frequently you need to exfoliate — as it depends on the exfoliant, how powerful it is, and what else you’re using — you definitely need to do it.

We recommend our clients exfoliate at least 2 times a week.

Do I really need to wash my wash my face in the Morning?

Yes, you should wash your face twice daily, preferably with a gentle cleanser. This is because bacteria builds up in your skin overnight, so it is important to wash it off in the morning. Washing your face in the morning also acts as a great primer before applying your morning skincare routine. An effective gentle cleanser is Vital C Hydrating Cleanser. It works to remove impurities, makeup, and dirt without damaging the skin barrier.

More importantly, you should always wash your face before you go to bed! Dirt, makeup, and environmental toxins accumulate on your face throughout the day. Washing your face at night removes these impurities and stops pores from becoming clogged.

What is the Best age to start being serious  about skincare?

The best time to start addressing skin concerns is once you see them in the mirror. Usually, this is noticeable in your late 20's, but you can start taking preventive measures, like using sunscreen everyday, long before that — like NOW. It’s the most effective and affordable anti-aging product out there. Learn more about our sunscreens. We offer matte, solar clear & tinted sunscreens.

What causes Acne?

Acne can be caused by excess oil(sebum) & clogged pores.

Acne is most common in young adults with increasing hormone levels, and about 80 percent of people will have at least one acne outbreak before age 30. It is less common in older adults, who tend to have steadier hormone levels. Since stress can affect hormones, it may also play a role in the development of acne. Factors such as stress, diet, or light makeup may contribute to acne. If you have acne, visit us for a skin treatment.

We also recommend washing with a  gentle, mild cleanser no more than twice a day; and avoid hard scrubbing, exfoliating, and touching affected areas.

What are the most important products to use in my skin regimen?

Because we live in Florida & sun damage increases the risk of skin cancer, as well as skin problems ranging from wrinkles to dark spots, wearing sunscreen on a daily basis is essential.

Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a minimum sun protection factor (SPF) of 15. Beyond that, it takes just a few minutes each morning and each evening to do the basics: washing with a gentle cleanser and applying a moisturizer to your face and neck.

How can I treat my Hyperpigmentation?
